I thought Jeannette Wall was a strong girl. Although she suffered so many struggles, she did not really complain her parents and her life. She was always finding a way to make her life work well. When her father told her they would start their glass castle at their poor house, she really did what she could do to help build the glass castle, such as digging a big hole to help the foundation. Although the hole ended up filling garbage, Jeannette did what she could to make things work.

Jeannette Wall might feel that her life was bad. She liked to have things and she knew her family is lack of money. When she knew one women in the town is whore, she did not think that she is dirty. The first thing came in her mind was that did whoring make easy money? That really reflected that little Jeannette knew that money was important to her.

  1. Yes--I really like your observation that she never complained about her life, even though she had such a difficult one. This is a point that many book reviewers observe as being an especially special part of her writing.
