Conversation in writing
A good article has to be able to make conversation with readers. That means the author has to make sure he/she explains each of his/her points well, because when readers do not understand what is the writer talking about, the readers will have questiones, and the conversation of writing starts when readers have questiones about articles. As long as the author keeps explaining every questiones that readers have, the conversation will continue. The conversation ends up when the author consider that he/she explains enough. So that, a good article must include a good conversation that can answer every question that readers may have.

You make some good points here. The book talks about how writing a paper is like a conversation in that your paper is responding to someone else's idea. Also, as you mentioned, people write in a way that they know their readers can understand, so there are a lot of "listeners" and "speakers" in a paper--it's like a conversation. 1/1
